Printed or longhand signatures OK on election ballot
Jul 12, 2023

About the appropriate way to sign the green business reply envelope returning your ballot in the rerun presidential election. The Office of Labor Management Standards (OLMS) says that voters can either write in longhand or print their signatures on the white label that includes the voter control number on the back flap of the green business reply envelope.

The agency says there has been some confusion over whether a signature must be in longhand or printed. “As long as voters have complied with either printing or signing their name on the label, their voted ballot will be accepted and counted,” according to Election Supervisor Yvette Hoyt.

This election is important for Local 406 members. A strong number of voters will show strength, independence, and interest in self-governance. The ballots were mailed out June 26 and should have reached members by now. They will be counted at noon July 19. If you have not received your ballot, contact Honest Ballot at (718) 279-8683 or at vote@honestballot.com.
