There will be a chapel meeting for Editorial Unit members in the Pressmen's cafeteria between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. (longer if necessary) on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Local 406 President Mike LaSpina will attend to address union-wide issues.
As this is the first meeting of 2013 and as our contract nears its expiration date, the topics to be discussed include the new contract, Local 406's intention to join Teamster Joint Council 16, working conditions and benefits at Newsday now and into the future, as well as pending and past grievances and arbitration. But all topics are open for discussion.
